Rock Star You

Q: What does it take to be a Rock Star?

Julie: You have to want to own the stage more than other people want it.

You're not someone that settles.

Being center stage is your destiny. It doesn't scare you.

You know what you're good at and spend your time doing that.

You're resilient and know how to handle disappointment and stress.

You have a fan club! Your community of believers that want your success.

Q: You keep talking about the 'stage'? What exactly do you mean?

Julie: The stage I'm speaking about is life on your terms. It is your life ~ what ever that looks like ~ building your professional life, your career, your relationships, your life style ~ and doing it so that you wake up every morning and go to bed every night being proud of the life you have. Feeling truly satisfied and content.

Q: Doesn't the term Rock Star have some negative connotations?

Julie: No more than talking to people about becoming a leader or being a manager has a connotation. What do labels really mean anyway? I think today's work place needs to embrace and encourage original thought and the career aspirations that people see for themselves. And besides, being a Rock Star is not synonymous with being self-centered, egotistical or arrogant. It is being recognized and known for your star qualities.

Q: If someone has a lot of the attributes for being a star, what do they need to do next?

Julie: Life is too short to wait for your success! Talk to an expert about what's missing or what isn't working for you. The time you save and the money you recover as a result of leveraging your strengths immediately is well worth your investment.

Q: What's one of your favorite success quote these days, Julie?

Julie: Here's the one I'm using right now: "Two people stood behind prison bars. One saw mud, the other saw stars..."
